Quick Ship it: Mission (im-)possible: 65 tons from Italy to Nigeria within a very short time

Large tonnages and the fastest possible delivery are required – a scenario that brings many a project manager to a sweat and is a challenge that Quick-Cargo Service is happy to take on! Valves for an oil platform had to be transported from the factory near Milan to Nigeria as quickly as possible.

We received information on Friday morning that the shipment was ready for collection and must arrive in Lagos by the following Friday at the latest. Requirements that seemed impossible due to the lead time and the extreme size of the shipment. But thanks to the commitment of everyone involved in the transport process, it still became a “mission possible”: On the same day we were able to arrange the collection in Italy by our long-standing transport partner GLEXX Aircargotrucking.

The first part of the shipment was loaded just three days later and the rest the following day. The second part, the flight to Lagos, was quickly and perfectly planned. We decided to work with the GSA “Network Airline Services”, which represents the airline “Allied Air”. On the same day we informed the GSA how urgent the shipment was and when it would be delivered to Liege.

The GSA didn’t hesitate for a second and pulled out all the stops to make the impossible possible. Ultimately, the airline was able to provide us with two aircraft (a 747F and an MD11). The time window for reloading was also extremely small: the last packages were delivered at 9 a.m. the day before the deadline, and the first flight was scheduled to take off at 3 p.m. The entire cargo was handed over in Lagos on Friday!
