Three Questions for Oliver Krautter: Navigating the Cargo Industry

1. What does a typical day look like for you in the cargo industry, and how do you manage the various challenges that come with handling and transporting goods?
Every day in the cargo industry is different and full of exciting challenges. To manage these effectively, having a good team with innovative ideas around you is essential. A captain is useless without a fantastic crew on board. My typical day involves coordinating with various departments, addressing logistical hurdles, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and constantly communicating with clients and partners. Each day requires adaptability and problem-solving skills to ensure that everything runs smoothly, no matter the circumstances.
2. Can you share an example of a particularly challenging or memorable shipment you handled, and what steps did you take to ensure its successful delivery?
Throughout my career, I’ve handled numerous high-priority shipments, but one of the most memorable was delivering an international soccer trophy to the final in Munich. This shipment required urgent action and impeccable reliability. To ensure its successful delivery, meticulous planning was crucial, including route optimization and contingency plans. Close coordination with all stakeholders, such as customs, airlines, and local authorities, was essential. We utilized advanced tracking systems to monitor the shipment in real-time and address any issues immediately. Enhanced security protocols were in place to safeguard the trophy during transit. Maintaining constant communication with the client to provide updates and reassure them of the shipment’s progress was also vital. These steps were essential in overcoming the challenges and ensuring the trophy arrived on time for the event.
3. What role does customer service play in your daily routine, and how do you ensure client satisfaction throughout the shipping process?
Customer service is at the heart of everything we do. Our clients choose QCS because they trust us and believe in our performance. My goal is to ensure that every client is satisfied with our service, as our success depends on their satisfaction. Keeping clients informed at every stage of the shipping process, from pick-up to delivery, is crucial. It is important to understand each client’s unique requirements and preferences. Providing reliable service and being transparent about any potential issues or delays builds trust. Quickly addressing any problems or concerns that arise ensures that we meet or exceed client expectations. Regularly soliciting feedback from clients helps us continuously improve our services and address any areas of concern. Our passion lies in matching all the requirements that our customers are looking for, and we take pride in delivering exceptional service that keeps our clients happy and loyal.
